FRAGMENTS OF A LIFE IN MOTION

Words & Notes

Between the melody of my native songs and the silence between words. Poems, reflections, and small observations that find their way onto the page.

Poem · Juliana Tavares

I hear people say that many great ideas born in the shower, perhaps because of the water that washes away our worries and refreshes our memory from the past, and clear space for the future. Before I go to bed I thought of writing you something; Although I’m not ready for poems, I can write you a note of wonder. If you ever see a hummingbird, remember the day we wandered... In my family a hummingbird has been passed down through the years, Like secret heirlooms, It tells about love, about romance and about sufferings that shapes us, whispers that linger in laughter and tears. The soul of a writer is made up Full of layers, joy and sorrow, yesterday, today and tomorrow not because all of them are from or to one, but because they’re spun from and to too many players. My kin were musicians, writers and poets, but none of this would matter if no one dared to show it, and take it further. They blessed me to find a special kind of love one that cannot be measured. Nothing compares to the dimension of your eyes; only time can tell the dynamics treasured. I guess for today this is enough. Little by little, block by block, we keep building no one to rush, just the rhythm of the music and the sound of nature steady as the space we hold between each other.
